Visit and interact
A campus visit for the family and an age-appropriate interaction for the child. For Class II and above, a written placement test in English and mathematics.
Offer and admission
Offers go out by post and email. Admission is complete on payment of the admission fee and submission of documents within 15 days.

No capitation fee and no donation, in cash or kind, is sought or accepted at any stage. Fees are payable quarterly; the schedule holds for the full session and any revision is notified a session in advance.
Eligibility and documents
Age for Nursery is 3 years by 31 March 2027; each later class steps up by one year. Seats under the RTE Act are notified separately by the Directorate of School Education, Uttarakhand, and filled by its draw.
Documents to submit
- Birth certificate of the child
- Address proof of the parent or guardian
- Four passport photographs of the child, two of each parent
- Previous school report and transfer certificate, for Class II and above
- Immunisation record, for Nursery to Class I
Admission is open to all children without regard to religion, caste, or gender. The school does not interview parents on income or occupation.
Admissions questions
Which classes have vacancies besides the entry points?
It varies by year. Vacancy lists for Classes II to IX go up on the office notice board and this site on 3 November. Class XI admits against ISC stream seats after ICSE results.
Is there a sibling or alumni preference?
Siblings of current students and children of Old Deodarians receive a preference point at Nursery, LKG, and Class I. It is one point in a published ten-point matrix, not a separate quota.
What happens to the fees if we withdraw?
The caution deposit of Rs 5,000 is returned in full within 30 days of a written withdrawal. Tuition is charged to the end of the quarter in which the transfer certificate is issued. Registration and admission fees are not refundable.
Does the school offer boarding?
No. Deodar House has been a day school since 1957 and stays one. Eleven bus routes cover most of Dehradun; the routes and stops are listed at the office.
